According to the latest report of WABetaInfo, when you receive any message while the app is minimized you will see a new notification view. This means that you can reply to messages without having to open the application. Although this feature is common in apps for smartphones still it is new for UWP.

The leading WhatsApp news portal has released a screenshot of the feature. In the screenshot, you can see that with the availability of the quick reply feature you can reply to any incoming message within the notification view. So you don’t have to open the particular message for replying.

As seen there will be a response box in the notification written: “type a reply”. You just have to type and send your reply. WABetaInfo further mentions that this is very important news from the company. It is so because the normal WhatsApp Desktop built with Electron framework does not consist of this feature.

It is exclusively available only for the Universal Windows Platform app. The quick reply feature has been rolled out to everyone using the WhatsApp beta app for windows. If you still don’t see this feature be sure to install the latest WhatsApp version for UWP from the Microsoft Store.

Notably, windows WhatsApp desktop users using the electron framework will not receive this feature at present. However, you will have to wait until the ability to send a reply within notification finally becomes available.
