2. Pin Messages in Chat

Are you tired of losing important chats in the sea of messages? WhatsApp has you covered with the new pin messages feature.

You can now keep up to three chats at the top of your list for quick access. On Android, simply tap and hold a chat, then select “Pin chat.” On iOS, swipe right on the chat to pin it.

3. Edit Messages

WhatsApp’s new edit messages feature ensures that your typing mistakes can be corrected. Within 15 minutes of sending a message, you can edit it. Just press on the message and choose “Edit” from the menu.

4. Companion Mode

For users with multiple phones, WhatsApp’s companion mode allows you to link your existing WhatsApp account to another device.

Whether you have an Android or an iPhone, you can link them to WhatsApp on both. To activate companion mode, open WhatsApp on your second phone, select “Or link this device to an existing account,” and scan the QR code.

5. Chat Lock

Do you have private chats that you want to keep hidden? WhatsApp’s chat lock feature lets you lock these chats with a password, accessible only with your phone’s authentication method (e.g., passcode, Face ID, or fingerprint).

These locked chats are moved to a separate folder called “Locked chats.” Incoming messages in locked chats are discreetly shown as “WhatsApp: 1 new message.” To use chat lock, go to chat info and tap “Chat lock.”

6. Send Full-Resolution Images

WhatsApp now offers an “HD quality” option for sharing images and videos without compression.

Look for the HD icon when sending media, but be aware that using this option consumes more data and storage space.

7. Silence Unknown Calls

Tired of receiving unwanted calls from unknown numbers? WhatsApp now allows you to block or silence calls from unfamiliar contacts by adjusting your privacy settings.

To enable this feature, go to Settings > Privacy > Calls > Silence Unknown Calls.

8. WhatsApp Channels

Meta introduces WhatsApp Channels, allowing users to follow posts and updates from favorite social media creators, celebrities, and organizations across various interests. Access channels via the bottom tab on your phone, through the “Updates” tab.

9. New Layout

WhatsApp has rolled out a new Android app design, similar to its iOS counterpart, with a bottom navigation bar. Additionally, further UI changes incorporating Material Design 3 elements are expected soon.

10. Screen Sharing

WhatsApp’s screen-sharing feature, initially available to beta testers, is now accessible to all. During a video call, you can share your phone screen with another person by tapping the screen-sharing icon at the bottom of the screen.
