WhatsApp is working on a new Report Message feature for beta Desktop clients. This feature is already available on WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp for iOS devices. Now the platform is working to develop a similar feature for Desktop users too. This feature will let users report specific messages easily.

The popular cross-messaging platform is known for regularly testing and bringing new features to the app. Being one of the most in-demand apps WhatsApp has to keep up with time to keep its users updated. In this current beta update, the Meta-owned platform has announced a new under-development feature.

WhatsApp had just announced that it is working on a feature that enables users to add captions before sharing their documents. The company is developing this feature for a future update of WhatsApp beta Android, iOS, and Desktop devices.

Just after this news, the platform is now bringing an option that would allow Desktop users to report certain messages. According to the recent report of the leading WhatsApp news portal, WABetaInfo the report message feature is already available on android and IOS devices.

If you have installed the WhatsApp beta Android 2.21.20.1 version and WhatsApp beta iOS 2.21.190.12 version released last year, you must have seen this feature. However, it is still not available for web/desktop users. The good news is that the company is now testing this option for desktop users too.

As seen in the released preview this feature will be visible while viewing the message options. You will be able to report any specific message in a later update of the desktop app. You have to follow the same rules as WhatsApp Android and IOS while reporting any message.

With this option specifically the reported message is forwarded to the WhatsApp moderation team. This is unlike reporting any contact within chat info. When you report a contact the last five messages of the conversation are forwarded.

This helps the moderation team to understand the context in a better way. With this new report message option now desktop clients can easily report only certain messages.

As mentioned earlier this feature is currently under development so it is not available to beta testers. There is no news on when it will be finally released. Once it is ready you will get an updated article on our website. For more information on all upcoming new releases and developments keep following us.
