WhatsApp is working on a new message reactions feature for beta Android users. According to the reports, this new version will let you choose a new set of emojis for reacting to messages in a future update. From a previous report, you already know that the popular messaging app has been gradually rolling out the ability to react to messages to some select Android Beta testers.

After this rollout, the platform is now testing a new version of the same feature which is reported to be available in a coming update of WhatsApp beta for Android. Let us discover more about this new version of the message reactions feature in this article.

WhatsApp working on new message reactions

When WABetaInfo announced the ‘message reactions’ feature, the leading news portal reported that after the ability for reacting to messages feature will be released, a set of 6 emojis will be available to you for giving reactions. They are like love, surprise, sad, and thank you.

According to reports after this announcement, some people demanded more emojis for use as a message reaction. So as per users’ demand, the platform is reportedly working to develop a new version of this feature which is said to offer more reactions to you in a coming update.

Though the new version of this feature is in the developing process the leading WhatsApp news reporter has released a preview of it. In the screenshot, you can see how the new message reactions work. According to the available screenshot, the platform will be adding a new ‘plus button’ with the reaction bar in a future update.

When you tap this plus icon you can choose a different emoji for reacting to messages. However, at present, it is not known which new set of emojis the platform is planning for reaction. As in Facebook messenger and Instagram you can choose any emoji you want, possibly in WhatsApp also you will be able to do the same.

As mentioned earlier the new message reactions feature is under development, so currently it is not available to beta testers. There is no news about its release date also but you will know as soon as there is any information regarding it.
