WhatsApp is currently working on a ‘New Media Picker‘ for Beta Android users. The popular messaging platform has submitted this update through the Google Play beta program with this update the version reaches up to 2.22.4.4. In this update, the platform gives news on a redesigned media picker which will be available to you in a future update.

WhatsApp working on a new media picker for the beta Android

Recently you have seen a lot of new features the Meta-owned app is working on. WhatsApp is regularly undergoing updates to keep boosting its User experience. So, if you are also a WhatsApp beta user there is good news for you. According to a report in this new version of WhatsApp beta, you will see a new redesigned media picker.

This new Beta update for Android will improve the way to send multiple media after taking a photo. A screenshot has been shared by a source in which you can see the new design of the media picker. You can see that in the new design, WhatsApp has added two new tabs- ‘Recents and Gallery’.

This will make it easier for you to search the media file quickly that you want to share with your contacts or your status updates. The ‘Recents’ tab will show all the recent photos videos and GIFs from your gallery.

And all the previous photos, videos, and GIFs of your gallery will be available in the ‘Gallery’ tab. It is reported that this new redesign will be visible only if you select the images from the in-app camera. This means that the redesigned media picker will not be visible if you normally want to share media from a chat.

It is also reported that in this new feature, you will be able to select multiple images and videos at a time. As mentioned earlier this feature is also still under development process with several other features. So right now it is not available even to beta testers. But it will be available in a future update once it is ready. However, you will get the news of its final release when it will officially announce.
