WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that would allow you to ‘keep disappearing messages’ for beta iOS users. The platform has submitted this update through the TestFlight beta program with this update the current version reaches 22.9.0.72. Some users may receive the same feature in a previous 2.22.9.72 version within WhatsApp settings.

WhatsApp is much more chat intensive than any other social media platform so, the community was introduced to self-destructive messages in groups. This feature ensures that all messages sent to a group will be automatically deleted after a certain period of time. According to the latest report of WABetaInfo, this latest WhatsApp beta release is enabling users to keep disappearing messages on groups. Get more details in this article.

The company is developing this feature which will enable you to remove the expiration from a disappearing message so that you can keep the message in your chat if you wish to. The report confirms that the platform is still working on the same feature in this current beta update.

In the attached screenshot released by the news source, you can see that you will get the option to ‘keep’ any message. When you do so the message won’t disappear from the chat even after its expiration. Notably, this will also allow other group members to keep seeing the message. Of course, other group participants can always ‘un-keep’ it if they don’t agree to keep the message.

Keeping disappearing messages will help you to avoid the expiration of any long-time discourse about a planned meeting or any important conversation. As the ‘kept’ message was originally meant to be disappeared so as soon as it is ‘un-kept’ WhatsApp will immediately delete it for everyone and the message will also automatically disappear from the chat.

This feature is currently under development process so according to the reports, the Dev team may change its appearance. The report also mentions that as all under internal testing features tend to change before it is finally released so there are chances that WhatsApp may also discard this feature.

However, you will know as soon as it is released to beta testers in a future update. For more information on all upcoming development keep following us.
