WhatsApp is reportedly working on a ‘Group polls’ feature for beta Android users. The platform has submitted this update through the Google Play Beta Program with this update the current version reaches up to 2.22.10.11. According to the reports in this update, the Instant Messaging app is finally working on the ability to create poll options for groups in a coming update.
The news on the polls feature has been around for a while. As WhatsApp is one of the most widely messaging applications this feature is assumed to be very useful. This is why the developers’ team is putting effort to extend this feature. This update brings new references to the ‘Group polls’ feature available in a future update.
WhatsApp creating Polls option for Groups
In previous articles released by WABetaInfo, the leading WhatsApp news tracker had already announced that WhatsApp has been developing the ability to create group poll options for a future update of WhatsApp iOS beta and WhatsApp beta for Desktop.
In this current beta update, the news tracker finally brings news about the same feature on WhatsApp beta for Android. Particularly the company is working on developing a new section of the app on WhatsApp beta for Android devices. This section shows where you can create group polls in the future.
The attached screenshot released along with the report reveals that this new section is quite similar to the previous ones that you have already seen on WhatsApp beta Android and WhatsApp beta Desktop Interface. As you know that in poll options you will be able to fill in the poll question and their options in selected fields.
You can add up to 12 possible options. Additionally, the report also confirms that when this feature will be available to beta testers in the future and they will be able to send group polls, the content of the poll will be fully encrypted and nobody, not even WhatsApp will be able to see it.
As per the reports, the ability to create group polls is currently under development process so it is not available to beta testers. There is no known release date for this feature at present but as this is the first beta update where the Dev team is working on the group polls feature for WhatsApp beta Android, the platform may take some time to finally roll it out for beta testing.
