In this current beta update, the platform is releasing the text detection feature within conversations by using this SDK. In the available screenshot of the feature, you can see that this update has made it easy to extract text from images within your conversation.

To check if this feature is available for your WhatsApp account just open an image with embedded text on it. If you can see the new text detection button this means the feature is available to you. With the help of this button now you can start accessing the text from an image within your conversations.

The new text detection feature is not provided by WhatsApp and is limited only to specific iOS 16 users. The report added that WhatsApp has also started to support this feature by using the system API.

As mentioned earlier the ability to detect text within images is currently available only to some select beta testers using the latest 23.1.0.73 beta version of iOS within the TestFlight beta program. Some users may also get it in a previous update. Those who don’t have this feature now will be getting it soon with the coming updates.
