WhatsApp rolling out new feature – ‘Call links’ for beta Android users

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature ‘call links’ for beta Android users. This update has been submitted through the Google Play Beta Program with this current update the version reaches up to 2.22.6.5. The Instant Messaging Platform is reportedly testing a new feature in this update which allows creating links to join WhatsApp calls. This update is reported to be available in a future update.

WhatsApp rolling out Call links for Group Calls

WhatsApp has been working on call features from quite some time. In a previous WhatsApp beta for Android update the platform has introduced a new interface while placing voice calls. The app is again ready with a new call feature in this current version.

Previous year the Meta owned app rolled out several improvements for WhatsApp voice calls and video calls. The ability to join WhatsApp group calls while already being in a call was among the improvements. According to the reports the current version brings references about the new add feature which will be available in coming date.

As you already know that you can join a group call even if it is already started. This latest added feature makes it much more easier for you to join using call links. The reports have revealed that now you can create a call link within your contacts list. You can also share the link with anyone even with those who are not in contact list.

This feature is unlike the old Messenger Rooms shortcut where anyone could join the Messenger room without having Facebook account. In WhatsApp when you create a call link the call is arranged on WhatsApp. So your call is secured by end to end encryption and you need to have a WhatsApp account to join the link.

As this feature is in the developing process it is not possible to create call links at present but the platform is planning to release this feature in coming update.
