WhatsApp is working on an end-to-end encryption feature for message reactions. This update will be available to WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS users in an upcoming update. A leading news portal WABetaInfo has spotted and reported about this new feature.

You all have been using WhatsApp mostly for getting connected to your near and dear ones. The app has been continuously working on upgrading itself by introducing new and advanced features. You all know that WhatsApp has been working on the message reactions feature for quite some time now. In this version, the platform is adding one security feature to message reactions.

WhatsApp message reactions with end-to-end encryption

Meta-owned WhatsApp had targeted to present a messaging system that always keeps the privacy of its users in mind. This is why end-to-end encryption, a security feature was introduced to this platform. You already know that in end-to-end encryption messages could only be seen by the sender and the recipient.

Now the platform is planning to introduce the same security feature for message reactions too in which only the recipient will be able to see who reacted to their message. Also how many reactions they received? WhatsApp is developing a new message reactions feature for beta Android and iOS users at present. This new feature will let you respond to a message instantly and easily. You will be getting six emojis to react to a message for now.

WhatsApp’s new Messages reactions features

They are heart, thumbs up, crying sad face, folded hands, open mouth face, and tear of joy face. When you react to a message with these emojis you will see a smaller profile below on the right side of the message. There is one additional plus button also in the reaction option for you to access the full emoji picture for reacting to the messages.

This feature is already present in most messaging apps like Telegram and Facebook Messenger. According to previous reports WhatsApp has been working on it since September 2021. In that previous version, you could see the number of how many people who have reacted to any particular message. However, it is unknown whether this will be available in the final version or not.
