The Vivo X200 Ultra has made headlines in the tech industry, with leaks and rumors stoking anticipation. Finally, photos from a Chinese certification site get a glimpse of the design, and it appears that Vivo is sticking to its premium appeal. With the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro already available, the Ultra variant appears to be the series’ crown jewel.
Design
The Vivo X200 Ultra has a modern yet recognizable appearance. Leaked photos show a smartphone that substantially resembles its siblings, the X200 and X200 Pro. Which feature stands out the most? The huge camera bump. It dominates the back panel, reminding us that Vivo’s X series cameras are always front and center.
What’s noteworthy is the phone’s general design. It appears to be chunkier than prior generations, with polished flat sides made of metal that provide a robust, expensive feel. The flat display with micro-curved borders, similar to the X200 Pro, adds to the overall elegance.
Camera
The X200 Ultra, like the rest of Vivo’s X series, doesn’t skimp on camera quality. While the most recent photos disguise the camera configuration, previous leaks indicate a triple-camera setup. It supposedly has a 200MP telephoto lens, a 50MP primary camera, and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
The camera module proudly displays the ZEISS branding, indicating Vivo’s continuous relationship with the German optical company. For photography fans, this might be a game changer, especially with the anticipated adoption of Samsung’s ISOCELL HP9 sensor in the telephoto lens.
Performance
Unlike the MediaTek-powered X200 Pro, the Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which is developed on a cutting-edge 3nm technology. A large 6,000mAh battery powers this beast, allowing you to easily go through an entire day of intense usage.
Availability & Launch
While the Vivo X200 Ultra is shaping up to be a flagship competitor, reports claim it will only be available in China, maybe as early as April. This may come as a disappointment to fans around the world, but it highlights Vivo’s approach of targeting specific markets with its premium products.
