Data Transfer Methods

You can use Samsung Smart Switch in three ways: wireless, cable, and via computer. Let’s understand all three methods in detail.

1. Transfer data wirelessly

Step 1: Install the Samsung Smart Switch app on both devices. If the new phone already has it, download it from the Play Store on the old phone.
Step 2: Place both phones next to each other and open the app.
Step 3: Select “Send Data” on the old phone and “Receive Data” on the new phone.
Step 4: Select the “Wireless” option and let the two devices connect to each other.
Step 5: Now select the data you want to transfer from the old phone and tap “Transfer”.

2. Transfer data via cable

If you have a USB cable and OTG adapter, you can also transfer via cable. The connection is faster and more stable.

Step 1: Connect both devices via OTG and USB.
Step 2: Select “Send Data” on the old phone and “Receive Data” option on the new phone.
Step 3: Now Samsung Smart Switch will detect the data and start the transfer process.

3. Transfer data via computer

If you have a laptop or PC, you can also transfer data using the Smart Switch desktop app.
