Samsung is preparing to raise the bar with the forthcoming Galaxy S25 series, which is likely to debut on January 22nd at the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event. While the style does not differ significantly from the Galaxy S24 family, the emphasis has switched to hardware enhancements, and there is one update that has everyone talking: the RAM.
Major RAM Upgrade
According to reliable tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ would have a base configuration of 12GB RAM. Yes, you read that correctly: no more 8GB RAM options!
This update puts the S25 and S25+ ahead of its predecessors, who launched with 8GB RAM. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, will start with 12GB of RAM. But wait, there’s more: the S25 Ultra may have a 16GB RAM model for the first time, competing with Google and OnePlus flagships.
Storage & Chipset
Samsung isn’t stopping at RAM. The S25 lineup is also expected to include 256GB of base storage, which is twice as much as the S24 series’ 128GB.
The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will power the entire series. And, as a bonus, there are no Exynos processors this time, purportedly owing to production concerns.
Design
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ models will look almost identical to their predecessors, with only minor differences such as concentric camera rings. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, marks a significant shift in design.
Leaked models and live photographs indicate that the Ultra will have rounded corners rather than harsh edges, as well as a somewhat slimmer profile, giving it a taller and sleeker appearance.
Launches in India
As always, Samsung’s flagship S-series will arrive in India, likely around the same time as the global launch or shortly after. For comparison, the Galaxy S24 series debuted in January of this year, with pricing beginning at Rs 79,999.
