How to Recover Whatsapp Messages
WhatsApp gives its users the option to backup – which is stored on Google Drive or iCloud. If you have already enabled backup, then recovering deleted messages is very easy. But even if there is no backup, there are some methods that can help you.
First Know Whether Your Backup Is on
First check whether you have turned on WhatsApp backup or not.
- Open WhatsApp
- Go to Settings > Chats > Chat Backup
- Here you will know when the last backup was taken

How to restore WhatsApp messages from backup
Step 1: First uninstall your WhatsApp
Step 2: Now reinstall WhatsApp from Google Play Store
Step 3: Open the app and enter your mobile number

Step 5: Tap on “Restore”

Can Messages Be Recovered Without Backup
This is a bit difficult, but not impossible.
Use a file manager
- Open your phone’s file manager app
- Go to Internal storage > WhatsApp > Databases
- You will see some files there like – msgstore.db.crypt12
- Copy the old dated file from these and rename it to msgstore.db.crypt12
- Now uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall it
- Now click on restore – you may get some old messages back
