Because OPPO has given a great gift to its users by giving RAM expansion feature.
What is RAM Expansion
Simply put, RAM expansion is a feature that turns part of your phone’s internal storage (ROM) into virtual RAM. This speeds up your phone’s performance – without increasing the physical RAM. For example, let’s say your phone has 6GB of RAM, and you turn on expansion by 3GB, you now get the speed of a total of 9GB of RAM.
The biggest benefit
It makes your phone run more smoothly, especially when you’re running multiple apps at the same time. This feature is great when gaming, multitasking, and using heavy apps. And the best part – you don’t have to pay any extra for this. All you have to do is go to Settings once and turn it on.
How to do it
- Open the Settings app
- Scroll down and tap on the About Phone option
- Tap on the RAM section
- You will now see the RAM Expansion option
- From here you can expand the RAM by 2GB, 3GB or 5GB (depends on the phone model)
- Select RAM and restart the phone
Which Oppo phones have this feature
Not every Oppo phone has this feature, but the following are some of the popular models that support RAM expansion:
- Oppo Reno series
- Oppo F19, F21 Pro
- Oppo A74, A76, A96
- Oppo K series
- And newer models with ColorOS 11 or above
