Motorola appears to be preparing for a new launch in India. A device with the model number XT2517-4 was recently discovered on the Bureau of Indian Standards’ (BIS) certification website. This appearance suggests that the phone may be released in India soon. Previously, the same model was listed in the IMEI database, verifying its existence.
What We Know
The BIS certification specifies the model XT2517-4, which is thought to be the Indian version of the Motorola smartphone. Interestingly, the IMEI database displays the phone in many varieties, including XT2517-V, XT2517-1, XT2517-2, and XT2517-3, indicating that it may be released in multiple markets.
The model number’s prefix XT25 indicates a 2025 launch date, which corresponds to Motorola’s rumored plans for the coming year. According to sources, the handset, codenamed ‘Houston’, is expected to be a low-cost smartphone, maybe part of the G or E-series lineup.
Motorola working
Aside from the Houston, Motorola is apparently working on a foldable smartphone dubbed ‘Orion’. This gadget, model number XT2551-3, is said to be the Razr 60 Ultra, the successor to the Razr 40 Ultra based on the XT2451 chip. The Orion, like the Houston, is anticipated to make its premiere in 2025.
Recent release
Motorola recently released three new G-series phones—the G05, G15, and G15 Power—as well as one E-series handset, the E15, to global markets. The G05 and G15 are likely to make their way to India, where their predecessors were already released. However, the official launch date for these gadgets has yet to be disclosed.
What’s next
With the Houston and Orion on the horizon, Motorola appears to have some big ideas for 2025. While the information are still scarce, we should expect additional leaks and updates on these gadgets soon. If you’re a Motorola lover, keep an eye on these forthcoming releases!
