RC versions always include all features tested in earlier beta stages. Apple may still fix small issues later, but most functions are now final.

The update fixes a problem where AirDrop devices on Beta 1 were not visible on Beta 2 when set to Everyone mode. Another fix corrects the Watch Face Gallery bug that forced English text for all users.

Apple also updates the Sleep Score feature by changing its classification levels. The highest level is now renamed from Excellent to Very High for clearer user understanding.

Apple is also pushing the iOS 26 upgrade more strongly to users still running iOS 18. Those users now see iOS 26.1 as the main recommended update on the Settings page. iOS 18 updates will still arrive but will appear lower on the screen, while iOS 26 updates stay at the top. This move helps more users shift to the latest system sooner.

New Feature Additions

iOS 26.2 Release Candidate Update Rolls Out with several new features added across many apps. AirDrop gains a new single-use code.

This code can be shared with people outside contacts. Once exchanged, the two people can share files smoothly for thirty days.

The Lock Screen adds a clearer Liquid Glass slider. This slider helps users change clock transparency with more control.

The Sleep Score feature adds updated thresholds to give better sleep analysis. CarPlay users can now turn off pinned conversations in the Messages app for a cleaner view.

The Reminders app receives a major change. Users can now mark tasks with due times as urgent. Urgent tasks trigger alarms similar to wake-up alerts.

These alarms include a nine-minute snooze and a Live Activities banner that stays active until the task is completed.

Apple Podcasts gains automatic chapters, show topic links, and a new “From This Episode” section. Apple Intelligence powers these features to help users move through episodes quickly.
