Instagram stories have become a great way to connect with your audience. But are your stories getting fewer views? Do you want your Instagram story to reach more people in an organic way? If yes, then just posting stories will not help you, but you have to adopt the right strategy.
Post stories at the right time
Timing plays the most important role in increasing Instagram story views. If you are posting stories when your audience is not online, the views will be less.
So what is the right time
- 7 am to 9 am (People check social media before going to office or college)
- 12 noon to 2 pm (Instagram is scrolled during lunch break)
- 6 pm to 9 pm (People are active on Instagram after work or class)
You can go to the Insights section of your Instagram account and see at what time your audience is most active and post stories accordingly.
Create interesting stories
Are your stories limited to just uploading photos or videos? If yes, this could be the reason why your stories are not getting views.
- Use polls
- Add question stickers
- Add countdown stickers
- Use GIFs and animated text
Use hashtags and location wisely
Most people forget to add hashtags and location to their Instagram story. But it’s a great way to reach new audiences with your story.
- Use the location sticker so that the story is visible to people in that area.
- Use 5-6 relevant hashtags (you can also hide them by collapsing them on the story).
Post at least 5-6 stories every day
- Instagram’s algorithm prefers accounts that post regular stories.
- So if you are posting only one story a day, your views will be low. For better results, upload at least 5-6 stories every day.
Save Instagram stories as highlights
Many times people miss your story, but if you save it as a highlight, new visitors can also see it.
Create highlights by category, like – “Travel”, “Food”, “Q&A”, “Behind the scenes”.
Have an attractive cover image for each highlight, so that people click to see it.
