According to the reports now you can link other devices to your WhatsApp account using your primary device. After those devices are linked you can simply use the messaging service on any of those devices of all kinds of platforms or Operating Systems.

How to link WhatsApp with Multiple Devices

To use the Multi-Device feature first thing you need to do is update your app to the latest version of WhatsApp. The feature is available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once your app is updated go to your WhatsApp settings.

This setting is available on the bottom navigation bar of iOS and for Android, you have to tap on the three-dot menu in the top right corner of your WhatsApp display. After this select the “Linked Devices” option from the menu.

From the linked devices, tap on the “Link a Device” tab to link a new device with your WhatsApp. Remember that before linking a device to your WhatsApp account you have to keep WhatsApp’s web client or desktop app open on the device that you want to link.

After tapping on the Link a device button, WhatsApp may ask for your phone password for your identity verification. After verifying it will open a QR code scanner.

Then scan the provided QR code of the device that you want to Link with the scanner. And you are done. If you want to know more details about how to connect and use different devices independently read the ‘in-depth guide on how to use the multi-device feature in WhatsApp’.

After this, the linked device will show up on the ‘Linked Device’ page. As mentioned earlier you can link your device at once to your WhatsApp and all will appear in the customized section. You also have the option to log out of any specific device to unlink them from this same section.

The WhatsApp developers had to work for months to introduce this feature on all kinds of platforms. In an interview last year WhatsApp CEO ‘Will Cathcart’ mentioned all the technical challenges faced while developing the feature. However, finally, the feature is here for you. You can give your feedback about this multi-device feature on WhatsApp. For more stories on all the upcoming updates of WhatsApp stay tuned with us.
