What is voice typing
Gboard, Google’s official keyboard, is used on both Android and iOS platforms. It has a voice typing option that converts your voice into text. This means no more typing with your fingers. Just tap the microphone icon and start speaking – Gboard will do the rest.
How to turn it on
1. Make Gboard your default keyboard
- First, make sure your phone is using Gboard.
- For this, go to Settings → System → Languages & input → Keyboard → Manage
- keyboards → Turn on Gboard.
2. Turn on voice typing settings
- Now go to Gboard settings.
- Open Gboard to open Settings → Tap on the G icon above the keyboard → Tap on the Settings icon.
- Here you will find the option of “Voice typing”, turn it on.
3. Use the microphone icon
Now whenever you go to type in the text field, the Gboard keyboard will open. The microphone icon will appear next to the space bar in the keyboard.
