What is two-step verification & why is it important
Let’s understand it like this – if WhatsApp is a door, then two-step verification is its lock which requires two keys. This means that whenever someone logs in to a new phone using your WhatsApp number, they will have to enter not only the OTP but also a 6-digit PIN that you have set yourself. This will prevent anyone from opening your account without your permission.

How to Get Started
Step 1: Open WhatsApp
Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Step 2: Go to Settings
Tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the screen and go to Settings.
Step 3: Tap on Account
Open the Account section in Settings.
Step 4: Click on Two-Step Verification
Here you will see the option for Two-Step Verification, tap on it.
Step 5: Click on Enable
Now set a 6-digit PIN of your choice by tapping on “Enable”.
Step 6: Add Email (Optional but required)
WhatsApp will give you the option to enter an email so that you can recover your PIN if you forget it. Don’t skip it.
