Are you active on Instagram? It is a great platform to share your photos and videos! But have you ever wondered how secure your account is? Online hacking and fraud have become very common nowadays, and no one would want their Instagram account to be hacked.
What Is Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication is an additional security layer. When you log in to your Instagram account, the first thing you do is enter your username and password. But when 2FA is turned on, you also need to enter a second verification code.
This code comes to your phone number or another app. This means that even if someone has your password, they won’t be able to log in to your account unless they have that second code.
Easy Way to Turn on 2fa on Instagram
Open the Instagram app: First, open the Instagram app on your smartphone.
Go to your profile: Tap your profile photo in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Go to Settings: On your profile screen, tap the three lines (hamburger menu) in the top right corner. Then select ‘Settings and Privacy’.
Go to ‘Account Center’: In the Settings menu, tap ‘Account Center’ at the top.
Select ‘Password & Security’: Now tap ‘Password & Security’.
Click on ‘Two-factor authentication’: Here you will see the option ‘Two-factor authentication’. Tap on it and select your Instagram account.
Choose a security method: You can turn on 2FA in two ways: text message (SMS) or authentication app. Text message is the easiest.
Verify by entering a code: After choosing your preferred method, you will receive a code. Enter it and verify.
