How to customize an app icon
1. Create your custom icon first
You can use any graphic design tool for this – like Canva, Adobe Express or any app that runs smoothly on a phone. Canva is the easiest option – it has thousands of pre-made Instagram highlight templates. Choose the color, icon and background as per your choice from there.
Pro tip: Keep the icon simple and clean. Icons with too much detail don’t look good in small sizes.
2. Download and save it on your phone
Once your icon is ready, download it in PNG or JPEG format and save it to your phone’s gallery. Remember – use a high-quality image so that it doesn’t look pixelated on the profile.
3. Open Instagram and edit your highlight
Now open Instagram and tap on the highlight whose icon you want to change. Then click on the “More” (or three dot) option at the bottom and select “Edit Highlight” from there.
4. Now you will get the option to change the icon
In Edit Highlight, you will get the option for Cover Image. Click there, then choose your created image from the “Gallery” below. Once you adjust the position, tap “Done”.
5. You’re done! Now your profile will look different
